The Senior Data Developer will work with a team to provide high-quality service to our customer in managing the logistics IT portfolio of systems.  This role is responsible for the execution of data warehousing, pipeline and visualization activities within the areas of enterprise architecture and data management.

This position is a team lead role providing support for the visualization of the portfolio’s architectural data by storing, organizing and presenting the data in a meaningful, user-friendly way.  This position is also responsible for reporting on the quality of the data and suggesting means of closing information and quality gaps as they occur. 

The Senior Data Developer will work within an agile team to provide high-quality service to our customer by applying analysis techniques to determine solutions based on client requirements with an IT services/solutions-based scope.   They will develop and maintain a database of architectural data and devise schemes for updating this data over time.  The Senior Data Developer will also provide technical expertise to the team and senior leaders by explaining data warehouse storage, processing and visualization techniques and best practices.  They will also act as a data “bridge” to other teams where those teams intersect.

• Analyze operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making and resource allocation
• Conceptually understand and convey to stakeholders and leadership complex topics related to data warehousing, data lakes, data pipeline activities, and data visualization.
• Work with subject matter experts (SME) across organizations to collect and update business and technical metadata
• Develop source-to-target (STMs) that document data transformations
• Create project plans to achieve performance-based objectives, enhancing implementation, systems and service  
• Review submitted data to detect data quality problems and anomalies and help organization correct data, both current and historical
• Collect and analyze data and associated system artifacts for stakeholders to use in perfecting their business practices
• Perform analysis to determine how data might best be applied to profit the stakeholders
• Develop ETL routines to load and curate disparate data sets
• Design, develop, maintain and visualize a data lake/warehouse using industry best practices

• Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar and 8+ years of experience
• Experience leading and working in development teams
• Experience with ETL or data movement software such as NiFi, StreamSets, DataBricks, Jupyter Notebooks, etc.
• Expertise using SQL for data analysis, data quality, and data profiling activities
• Expertise with data visualization tools such as Qlik or Tableau
• Experience in one or more scripting languages
• Expertise creating data mapping documentation for databases, interfaces and applications
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and roles
• Excellent written and verbal communications

• Extensive practical experience in working with and defining data
• Logical thinker; able to articulate thoughts both verbally and diagrammatically
• Experience with data collection systems and their strategies
