Job Summary:

Diné Development Corporation (DDC) is seeking a highly qualified Accounts Payable Specialist to play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors and suppliers. Working within our Accounting Department, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial accuracy and compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and process a high-volume of vendor, consultant, and subcontractor invoices to ensure compliance with company policy, federal regulations, and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Review and process high priority employee expense reimbursements, while enforcing company policy, federal regulations and ensuring audit compliance.
  • Vendor file maintenance pertaining to 1099 reporting.
  • Reconcile monthly statements for vendor accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in an online filing system to ensure adequate audit documentation.
  • Prepare cash requirements reporting for vendor and employee payments.
  • Issue weekly vendor and employee payments via check, ACH, and online payment portals.
  • Prepare weekly NACHA files for upload into banking portal for ACH payment processing.
  • Liaison between internal customers, vendors, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve invoicing and payment issues.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR High School Diploma with minimum of five (5) years of accounts payable experience.
  • Previous experience in a government contracting environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with government regulations such as FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) requirements is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Deltek CostPoint and/or JAMIS Prime ERP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating as a team, with all staff levels organization wide.

Location: Fully remote position, preference to candidates in DC/MD/VA area.
