Job Summary:

The Lead Functional Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing business requirements, designing functional specifications, and ensuring the successful implementation of software solutions. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of functional and business analysts to gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and quality assurance analysts, to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Design functional specifications and system workflows based on business requirements, industry best practices, and technical constraints.
  • Conduct thorough impact analysis and risk assessments to anticipate potential issues and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, including mentoring, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on functional analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Facilitate meetings, and presentations to communicate requirements, gather feedback, and drive consensus among stakeholders.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of software solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

Job Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in a functional analyst role, with demonstrated expertise in gathering and documenting business requirements, designing functional specifications, and leading teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into clear and concise requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Proficiency in requirement management tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.

Education 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience 

 

Experience:  

Minimum: 8-10 years of experience in functional or business analyst role role. 

 

Proficient In 

  • JIRA, Confluence or similar
  • Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Virtual meeting platforms (i.e., Zoom, Microsoft TEAMS) 
  • Google Workspace  
  • Slack and other communication tools

Preferred Experience (includes Minimum) 

  • Ability to continuously assess and improve processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the functional analysis team.
  • Leadership abilities, including team management, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.  

Certifications  

  • IQBBA, Certified Foundation Level Business Analyst, preferred
  • SAFe Agile Product Owner Product Manager, nice to have.
