As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives. You will work closely with development teams and stakeholders to optimize cloud environments, ensure scalability, and maintain the highest levels of security and compliance.

In this role, you will primarily focus on deploying and managing cloud services on AWS, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance infrastructure efficiency. Experience with USAF Cloud One is a significant advantage, as you will also be expected to work with military-grade cloud environments.

• Design and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services.
• Implement and manage cloud-based applications, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Ensure security and compliance by implementing industry-standard practices and government regulations.
• Integrate cloud solutions with existing on-premise systems and other third-party applications.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline deployment pipelines.
• Provide technical support, training, and documentation for cloud-based systems.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits to maintain cloud security posture.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Expertise in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS service models
• Experience in cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, and security groups.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• 8570/8140 certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA, etc.).
• Active Secret security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications (a plus):

• Experience with USAF Cloud One.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools and cloud monitoring (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk).
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures.
