Job Summary:

We are seeking a Stormwater and Wastewater Management Program Lead to support permit compliance and environmental operations support for a local federal facility.  The Program Lead will over see the day to day compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee implementation of stormwater and wastewater permits and plans.
  • Review Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Construction permits and drawings.
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor corrective actions
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in stormwater and wastewater programs.
  • Inspector certification for Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) and/or Stormwater Management (SWM) in the State of Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)
  • Plan Reviewer certification ESC and/or SWM in the State of Virginia DEQ.
  • Certifications can be earned within the first 6 months of hire.

Required Expertise:

  • Familiarity with VPDES, MS4 permits, and wastewater discharge permitting.
  • Experience with inspections, corrective actions, permit documentation, and sampling coordination (for both stormwater and wastewater).
  • Understanding on developing permit modifications and renewals for each program.
  • Develop and implement sampling plans for both programs.
  • Inspection of erosion and sediment control and stormwater management best management practices for operation facilities and construction projects.
