The Enterprise Architect – Senior is responsible for designing and managing secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions—primarily in Microsoft Azure—that align with agency strategy and federal compliance mandates. This includes leading Azure platform engineering efforts such as configuring Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Policy, and secure landing zones; implementing governance through RBAC and tagging; and integrating Zero Trust security principles. The role also involves optimizing cloud spend, supporting hybrid cloud integration, and collaborating across IT, security, and DevOps teams to modernize infrastructure and ensure operational resilience. Additionally, the architect defines information requirements for infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ensuring visibility into cloud assets, enforcing tagging for cost and compliance tracking, integrating with security tools, and automating secure, policy-compliant deployments across environments.
