We are seeking a senior Azure Cloud Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise infrastructure environments across hybrid and cloud platforms. This role focuses on Azure architecture, identity and access management, and large-scale infrastructure transformation, supporting both cloud-native and hybrid environments. 

The architect will work closely with infrastructure teams, cybersecurity stakeholders, and application owners to design resilient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions while guiding organizations through cloud adoption, migration, and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities 

Azure Architecture & Cloud Strategy 

• Design and implement Azure-based infrastructure architectures supporting enterprise workloads and hybrid environments. 

• Lead planning and execution of datacenter-to-cloud migrations, including IaaS deployments and application modernization initiatives. 

• Architect high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region resiliency solutions within Azure. 

• Develop cloud network architectures including virtual networks, secure connectivity, and hybrid networking models. 

Identity & Access Architecture 

• Design and implement enterprise identity solutions leveraging Azure AD / Entra ID and Active Directory. 

• Support enterprise SSO integrations and federation architectures using modern identity standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth). 

• Lead modernization of legacy identity systems into cloud-integrated identity platforms. 

• Develop and enforce identity governance, conditional access, and security best practices. 

Hybrid Infrastructure Modernization 

• Architect and support hybrid Active Directory environments, including multi-domain or multi-forest deployments. 

• Design migration strategies for on-premises infrastructure to Azure cloud platforms. 

• Implement directory synchronization, identity federation, and cloud authentication models. 

• Provide guidance on PKI, group policy strategy, and enterprise directory services architecture. 

Enterprise Cloud Implementation 

• Guide engineering teams through deployment of Azure services including: 

• Virtual machines and infrastructure services 

• Application hosting and integration platforms 

• Secure networking and application gateways 

• Identity and access controls 

• Support the integration of enterprise collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Teams. 

• Assist with implementation of automation and infrastructure-as-code approaches. 

Advisory & Technical Leadership 

• Serve as a technical advisor to leadership and engineering teams on infrastructure strategy and modernization. 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps aligned to business objectives. 

• Support proposal development, solution design, and technical planning for new initiatives. 

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to infrastructure and cloud engineering teams. 

Required Qualifications 

• 15+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience in systems engineering, architecture, or cloud engineering roles. 

• Extensive experience designing and deploying Azure cloud architectures. 

• Strong expertise with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID identity platforms. 

• Experience designing hybrid infrastructure environments integrating on-premises systems with Azure cloud services. 

• Experience with enterprise authentication and identity federation architectures. 

• Hands-on experience implementing Azure networking, security controls, and infrastructure services. 

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives. 

• Strong scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Azure CLI, or infrastructure automation frameworks). 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience advising technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting federal or highly regulated environments. 

• Experience with identity security, conditional access, and enterprise authentication frameworks. 

• Background designing disaster recovery and business continuity architectures. 

• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code or automation pipelines. 

• Familiarity with enterprise messaging, collaboration, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
